Description
Magnolia Plantation, founded in 1676 along the banks of the Ashley River, has been a silent witness to the history of Charleston, SC from the Revolutionary War, through the War Between the States and well beyond. It is the oldest public gardens in America and still going strong with a year-round display of colorful flowers throughout the plantation. Azaleas, a plant so symbolic of the Old South, blooms only in early Spring and visitors from around the world time their visit to Charleston during its brief show.
